Nahwitti Lake is a jewel of a lake located at the north end of the island. Access to the lake is via the Nahwitti Lake Recreation Site. The lake can be paddled in a few hour but but one could easily spend a day exploring it’s varied shore line. It is well worth the visit. Water levels on can rise dramatically in rainy weather so be sure your boat is secured if leaving it on the shoreline.

Direction: Approximately 40 minute drive from Port Hardy, head south on the highway and turn right on to the Holberg Road. The Nahwitti Lake Recreation Site is located at the southwest end of the lake just a few minutes after you cross the bridge. The access to the site is signed and located on the right side of the road.
